Sorry I haven't been around the last few days. When I get into sermon writing mode, I sorta get lost in the process.
This week I have really been pondering the incarnation. Just how did God become man? I mean how does he stuff his "cosmic biggness" into an itty-bitty flesh bag?
Reminds me of "Tommy Boy": Fat man in a little coat...fat man in a little coat...
It really is a mystery, and yet I believe it one hundred percent. I mean, I have read hundreds of pages from countless thinkers regarding the incarnation...and while they all have very cool, profound, and poetic things to say regarding it...NO ONE, not one can even approach the answer to the question "How?".
And yet...I am totally sold on the idea.
Which leads me to a question:
When did we stop being OK with mystery?
When did we start having to have all the answers?
